POP-UP SHOP EVENT
UNLV SURPLUS CENTER GRAND OPENING AT NEW LARGER FACILITY
Featuring a Pop-Up Shop Event in Partnership with KUNV Radio
The UNLV Surplus Center has moved to a larger facility within the UNLV Flamingo Auxiliary Building (FAB); sometimes referred to as the 99 Cent Store plaza at Flamingo and Maryland.
1325 E Flamingo Rd
Las Vegas, NV 89119
Residence in the newly renovated 12,000 sq ft retail space will be kicked off with a grand opening celebration and Pop-Up Shop event on Saturday, September 12th, from 10am til 2pm.
KUNV & The Rebel-HD2 university radio stations will co-host with the on-air talent present to provide the musical groove for the event as well as fund-raising sales of Vinyl and CDs.
The Pop-Up Shop is a new ongoing program within the UNLV Surplus Center, as part of its community involvement initiative. It will feature special deals and fun events, including local artisan booths where community boutique businesses can showcase their wares for sale.
The UNLV Surplus Center’s mission is to process university owned excess property to eligible entities on campus, and also to sell to the public through the Surplus Center outlet and online store, (https://surplusstore.adminsvcs.unlv.edu/). A wide variety of interesting goods come in and out every week, offered at great prices, and the repurposing program helps reduce landfill, which benefits the environment.
Andrea Mower, the UNLV Surplus Center Supervisor explains, “We held our first Pop-Up Shop event in November of last year to great success, and in our new larger facility we will host even more community organizations and vendors, not to mention sales promotions giving great prices to customers.”
For nearly 40 years, KUNV has been broadcasting from the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Listener and donor supported, 100% locally programmed public radio. Everything heard on KUNV is created in our studios by UNLV students working alongside professional staff.
